The Lovely Folks at The Make It Collective asked me for my spring racing style tips, so here they are!
Despite the name, Spring Racing Carnival isn’t just about racing. For some, it’s not about racing at all, it’s all about serious spring racing style.
The races are a perfect excuse for putting together the perfect outfit… in advance. This means you should take your time to think about what you’re going to wear
I love bright colours and I love shiny things. I also love handbags (some might say a little too much given the collection currently spilling out of my wardrobe) but who doesn’t need a bag for any and every occasion?!
I may not be a guy (although I sometimes like to dress like one) but I know enough of them to understand their frustrations when it comes to ‘dressing up’ for special events. With this and my love for menswear in mind (I was meant to be a boy, so perhaps that explains it) I was pretty excited about styling fashionably fun menswear for spring racing.
No matter how sleep deprived I am during Spring Racing Carnival, I always look forward to Moët & Chandon Cup Day Breakfast at The Westin!
Melbourne Cup is the day for fun fashion. So naturally, it’s the day I go crazy with colour and usually dress like a rainbow. It is spring racing carnival after all!
Spring Racing is THE time of year for hatted folk (like myself) and their enthusiasts!
Not only do I get excited about dressing up and running around The Birdcage, I also look forward to a day of deliciousness and dancing! Apparently there’s some sort of race on but I never see it bc I’m too busy skipping about and being social to even see a horse.
Derby Day is all about black and white. I’m intolerant to monochrome, so I just had to add a touch of colour and a sprinkle of sparkle!
Spring racing is (like so many other events) a fabulous excuse to dress up fancy but sometime I need a reminder that my interpretation of ‘fancy’ is very different to most peoples.
I’d heard sooo many rave reviews about Kinky Boots that I just had to see it in the West End while I was recently in London… every show was sold out.
